Monday's Mood - Chill, Baby!

Mondays mornings just are dreadful! We wake up from hardcore do-everything activities, packed into two days. I know I am guilty of saving the household chores and shopping for Saturday. Then of course we use time to do the things we enjoy doing. Watching a movie and eating food that we normally wouldn’t have but the desire to treat ourselves is super-normal on weekends. So I am not feeling guilty about eating a Monte Christo sandwich smothered with cheese. I never expected it to be as huge as it was when I ordered it though.

I have a high energy level as the weekend approaches. Thumper and I try to spend quality time we missed out on during the week. We like to relax together, often with dinner and a movie.

I do however think the weekends should be longer.

Sundays come around so soon. We have to prepare for the work week ahead of us. So there are usually some bittersweet tasks to do on Sunday evenings.

Because today is Monday, and I’m such a nice Bunny, I will share with you some motivational songs now. The first song is one of my favorites by Fats Domino. This is a traffic song.

The Mamas and the Papas – awesome 60’s group.

I love the rain but when it rains on a Monday it adds to my mood. I love this song that the Carpenters released but Paul Williams wrote and sings beautifully.

Sheena Easton’s lyrics apply to some of us. I love the song but who works 9-5 these days?

Manic Mondays are part of my life. This says it pretty much. Sundays are fun days at our place.

So there you have it. My Monday songs. Do you have a favorite I didnt mention here? I would love to know.

Thank you for the Monday songs! Even though its Monday night for me, I still enjoyed it and will keep it for next week.

I get into the habit of saving food shopping and cleaning for the weekends too. Its feels so much better when its spread out during the week.

Hi Carla,

I wanted to post this earlier but Monday morning got in the way.
I am guilty of the same habits.
I think I am going to work harder on spreading them out during the week so I have more time for the weekend:)
Thanks for stopping by and sharing.

I think if there were a song about comatose Mondays, that would be the right one for me yesterday. My hubby and I went for a day trip and a long hike on Sunday, and we were both beat all Monday long.

Hi Rhonda,

I enjoyed the sandwich but felt like a blimp after half of it was gone.
Soo good!

I had a good time listening to these songs while dreading Monday and figured many others feel the same way.

Thank you for stopping by :)

Hi Kristi,

I think there should be a song for that also.

I am happy to hear that you spent a happy weekend hiking and relaxing. Hiking is something we haven’t done as of yet.

Getting away is a great reward after a busy week. You got the right idea but we still need an extra day just to sleep in. Two days aren’t enough!

I’m with you … weekends should be longer.

One practice I like is “Tuesday night date night” to help break up the week. I learned it from one of my mentors way back and it’s a great practice. It guarantees you get some quality time during the week too so it’s not just the weekend. It’s a fun ritual.

Hi J.D.

Yes, the weekend defiantly needs to be longer!
I like that idea of a weeknight date.
I think I will aim towards Wednesday night – (the middle of the week- hump day) .

Hope you enjoy your date :)
