Well it’s Tuesday and it happened that my fiance finally went to the DMV. If you remember, I wrote about him overcoming procrastination earlier. Anyway, I woke him up early yesterday but because we had both worked all weekend, we decided to sleep for another hour. I slept with one eye open even after he had set the alarm.
When we woke up he was being so cleverly witty and mischievous, trying to make it sound like he was only doing this for me. I thought he was stalling for sure but as he assured me he had planned out his time and we had a half hour that we could utilize and he could vent his feelings on the matter. So he described a humorous scenario about his forthcoming trip. Exclaiming how he was going to be sent to numerous clerks with stamps. Upon him getting stamped, he would then be directed to the next clerk then on to another clerk then to another, collecting all these stamps before he was sent back to the original clerk he had first spoken to, before she would send him on his way home. I think he named at least six possibilities for a stamp. No wonder he had been procrastinating that much about it.
Well, the way he told it was hilarious. Now you have to realize, this is a man who uses his time productively so he took along a book I recently gave him. Reading is something he hasn’t had time to do in ages but enjoys doing. He was able to read on the train. Upon his arrival to DMV, he was surprised he only had to wait a half hour in line to spend five minutes resolving the matter with the clerk without any run-around or stamps.
Now a half hour isn’t bad considering how long it can be at the DMV, but to him any longer and he would have gone ballistic if it wasn’t for finding himself in deep thought - which motivated him for a new topic for an article.
He is writing his article now (without procrastinating) and a couple of minutes ago, I said I should bring him a drink and cover his face with kisses since he has harbored the rainy day and the weary wait at DMV.
So that is finally behind us. I think I’ll go stamp some kisses over my fiance’s handsome face and get him that drink.
